All teachers are teachers of literacy.

The link between making the most of every opportunity to promote and develop literacy and ‘outstanding’ teaching and learning has long been recognised.  We know that promoting good literacy skills in our lessons can transform students’ lives.  Here at NOA we work relentlessly to encourage students to make the most of every opportunity to develop literacy and communication. We employ a range of techniques from Drop Everything And Read days and our annual Literary Festival (Banbury Literary Live), to standardised ‘Academic Writing’ displays in each classroom.  Here are some of the strategies we have used and events that we have organised over the last 2 years.
